We are booked!!! My God. Booked...and this is where the fear sets in. Are we crazy?! Nahhhh! VERY excited? YES! But still a bit scared...
Over a year ago, during a drunken conversation in our friends bathroom, we decided that we should go travelling. The conversation is still a bit hazy but the end result was a lot of research and going, "are we actually going to do this?! Seriously?!" and lots of Oh My God's!! Back and forth visits to the travel agents - apparently its not very costs effective to want to hit every continent in the world and jumping back and forth from the northern hemisphere, to the southern, back to the northern...cue more research!
A route was decided, passed by the travel agent, price was quoted...tickets were BOOKED! Not gonna lie I felt VERY sick at this point. After so much discussion, and the possible feeling that some people may have thought that we would never do it, the fact that we were booking our flights felt completely surreal. DId not expect it to feel so emotional - and Jesus if that's how I felt at this point how the HELL would I say bye to all my friends and family?! Wahhhhh!!!
But we did it and I was very proud of us for dong it! Sooooo....
India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland, Christchurch (to work - hopefully!), LA, South America, back to LA and then somehow - be it plane, train or auto-mobile - getting to New York and then HOME, skint, tanned and probably full of the post travelling blues.
I - we - are beyond excited at what lies ahead. Most looking forward to India - which coincidentally is the one place I am most nervous about. Going to Melbourne to visit family is also very exciting! And of course, Christchurch to see ROZ!!!! Can't wait.
But for now it is the worrying - worrying about what to pack firstly. Do we take jeans? Will I really need my aeroplane fork? How many bikini's? What shoes to take? Will we find jobs in Christchurch? AHHHHHHH! And also the worrying about saying goodbye - the parents, siblings, leaving Miss Graham! Must.not.think.about.it...
Excited/scared/nervous/overwhelmed. But cannot wait. Bring it on!!
